Wheeeew!

QKR Stampede has a new challenge and this week the challenge is  "Anything but a Square Card."  This is when I struggle the most, I never seem to know what to do instead.  I had the image colored for over a week and just couldn't make a decision.  Then all at once the oval popped into my head and I used a Spellbinder die to cut it out.  Then cut a larger oval in a dark turquoise and mounted it all on an oval card shape.  Inside just reads "Wheeew!" but I wasn't really happy with the lettering I choose so we will skip that photo.   The image I have used is '24127 Long Day' and I colored it with my Copics of course.  I think this is the perfect shape for the bunny.  Not sure why it took so long to come to me.  Oval or egg shaped for a tuckered out Easter Bunny just seemed to please my eyes..

Sassy Studio Designs Spring Fresh Blog Hop

Welcome to the Sassy Studio Designs Spring Fresh Blog Hop. You should have arrived her from my Sassy Sister Adina's site, and if not you should start at the beginning and see all of the great projects.   I have used the "Steampunk Victoria" image and colored her with Copics and fussy cut her.  I choose to color her in yellows and blues, since this is a fresh take, and I normally would have colored her in tans.  I made a treat holder from card stock and when you unwrap the twine and open up the folder you will find 2 fun size Babe Ruth candy bars.  My sentiment is done using Stampin' Up's Teeny Tiny wishes stamps and are punched with the new Banner punch.  The twine & button were from my stash as was the floral paper I added for just an extra touch of color.  To make the treat holder I tore a gum packet apart to see how it was put together and made my template large enough to hold 2 fun size candy bars.  It took a couple of tries before I was happy with the design, but I used plain white card stock for my practice.

Thinking of You

QKR Stampede has a new challenge and this week the challenge is  "Sentiment Only."  I have used digi16108 Thinking of You."  No coloring this time.  Wow that feels different.  I took forever trying to decide what I wanted to do.  When it finally came to me, it only took a few minutes to create the card.  I printed the sentiment on a gray blue cardstock & cut the white cardstock with a Spellbinders die and mounted everything on a white card base.  Then added the sheer white bow.

Valentine Treat

Today I have a post that is not a card it is a Treat Holder.  This is the Valentine's Day treat I made for my grandchildren  to give to their teachers and dance instructors.  I found the inspiration on Pinterest, Kay Kalthoff had made her treat holders with gorgeous roses, but I don't have the rose die so I colored these great ballerina images from A Day For Daisies and they are perfect for the dance instructors.  They are colored with Copics and fussy cut.  The holder is cardstock that is 2 inches by 6 inches and score at 2 7/8 and 3 1/8.  Then each end is punched with the new Stampin' Up Scallop Tag Top Punch. You can make your tag any length you want with these new punches.  Fold on those score lines add the ribbon and I tied a knot.  Then printed my greeting on another pink cardstock andpunched it out with an old tiny tag punch.  Add the Ghirardelli chocolate and this is a great little gift, I would love.

Hearts & Kisses

QKR Stampede has a new challenge and this week the challenge is  "Hearts & Kisses."  I have used this great image "digi 11501 Kissed" digi15104 Cupid" and colored it with Copics and also used "digi11604 Hearts."  I printed the image 3 times in a row to make a border.  I have added a Quick Cuts heart die cut, since I couldn't find the heart doilies I had saved from last year.  That seems to be my problem lately.  There is also a paper flower with a brad in the center and some swirl die cuts under neath it.  My sentiment and the punch used to punch it are Stampin' Up.  The bow was ribbon from my stash.  He looks love struck doesn't he?

Happy Mother's Day

Sassy Studio Designs has a new Challenge up this week and the theme is "Stop & Smell the Flowers."   I used the Effie Trinket image and colored her with Copics in pastel colors and added paper roses and die cut swirls.   The swirls are a die from Nellie's Choice and I put paper roses over the area where the flowers were and the Label dies, the sentiment, and the punch I used to cut it out are all from Stampin' Up.  I am definitely ready for spring this year, it's been cold long enough.
