Birthday Wishes

This is a birthday card for a friend and I used Miranda from Sassy Studio Designs and she is colored with Copic markers and cut out with a spellbinders die.  My cardstock is a range of blues and all are from SU as is the sentiment and the die used to cut the sentiment.  I have some buttons placed on top of a swirl punch flower out of more blues and the butterfly is a die cut made with a die from Cheery Lynn Designs.

Me & My Buddy

Today I have made a birthday card for a special little guy who will be turning 1 in just a few days.  His dog is just as patient and loyal as the one pictured here.  I have used a Mo Mannings image called Buds and colored it with Copic Markers.  My birthday greeting is inside since I ran out of room on the front.  I have used SU cardstock and ribbon and finished it off with a couple of brads.  The round ones are SU and the paw print I have had so long I don't remember where it's from.  The dies I used are from Spellbinders.

Best Wishes

Another Mo Mannings image this one called  Cutting the Rug, and colored with Copics.  The RAGBRAI people are in town today and the town is so full of people that we have decided it is better to just stay home and avoid all the crowds. Thousands of bicycle riders everywhere. I don't know how they can ride all across Iowa in this heat.  It's too hot to be outside for very long anyway, unless we would go to the swimming pool.  So I have been inside in the air conditioning most of the day.  There is plenty of house work to do but I just feel like coloring the day away.  Is is possible to run the ink out of several Copic markers in less than a month?  Maybe I should be doing something else too.  Today's card has the sentiment of Best Wishes from SU and is punched with a circle punch.  I have used a couple of punches for the edges the scallop is from SU and the lattice is from EK Success.  I used spellbinder dies for the scalloped ovals and just one little sparkle of bling.

My photo just won't turn out good for this card.  Maybe it's all the dark paper.

Get Well Card

I have been busy today and have another card ready to post.  This is another Mo image called Moo.  I really do like Mo's digis.  The card base is SU cardstock that has been embossed with a SU embossing folder.  The sentiment is also SU and punched with 2 SU round punches and the leaves are also punched from SU's bird punch.  The corner flowers are stamps I found in a clearance bin at Michaels and cut them  out.  There is a small brad on the 1 corner it is also from SU.  I colored everything with Copics.

Hugs

Today I have made a card just wishing hugs.  I made it mostly for the MO's Hugs & Kisses Challenge.  I have used Mo's Marion image.  She is colored with Copics.  I have punched the black trim using an
EK Success punch and attached it to the card with black staples and an SU oval punch was used for the sentiment, which was computer generated.  SU Apothecary dies were used and I have added a black ribbon and 3 tiny pink heart brads.  All of my card stock is from SU.  I am quite pleased with how this card turned out and I hope you enjoy.  Thank you for stopping by to look and hugs to all.

Wedding Dance

Today I made a wedding card.  I have seen so many lately that have used several layers of all white so I thought I would give it a try.  Also this card is a little larger than I usually make, it's a 6 inch card.  The sentiment is SU and punched with a SU punch.  The background has layers of cardstock that have been embossed with Cuttlebug embossing folders.  The butterflies are an EK Success punch and I also used an EK Success punch for the borders around the sides and bottom.  The image is The Bride & Groom from Mo Mannings, and has been colored with Copics.

Thinking of you

Today I have made a Thinking of You card using the "G-fa" Giraffe  image from Mo Mannings.  I have colored him with Copics and did a little experimenting with the colorless blender and cool gray-C1 around the edges for my shading.  I like the way this shading turned out on the card better than the way it looks in my photo.  The cardstock is from SU as is the sentiment and the punches.  I used the oval and branch from the bird punch to make it look like leaves hanging from the trees.  It was too nice of a day to be inside for the whole day so I did take the grand kids to the pool for the afternoon and then came back to finish my card.  They had fun at the pool and then "helped" with the card making also.

I am going to try a couple of challenges and I entered this card at.

Celebrate Today

This card is one I just had to try.  I had seen the card on Tami White's site  http://stampwithtami.com/  It has a clear embossing ink that is heat set and it gives it the distressed look.  You can go to her site for her full instructions.   Mine is a little different.

I did the full background using SU En Francais stamp with Versa Mark Ink and Clear Embossing powder.  Then went over the whole area with Early Espresso Ink on a sponge and wiped away the extra color.  The SU Inspired by Nature stamp was used but instread of stamping it in ink, it was colored with SU markers directly on the stamp.  When all is colored you give it a couple breaths of moist air to refresh the stamp and it gets the resist from the embossing too.  I added the SU sentiment and I am pleased.  I have found the OWH site (Operation Write Home) and this will be one of the first cards I am going to donate to that cause.  Thank you for taking time to look and have a great day.

Happy Anniversary

Happy 4th of July.  Hope everyone has a wonderful and safe holiday.  Today I have an anniversary card.  I have a Mo Mannings digi colored with Copics.  I have used Spellbinders dies to cut the image and mounted it on SU cardstock.  The sentiment is SU and punched with an SU punch.  Then I finished the card off with a bit of ribbon and a butterfly made from and EK Success punch.

No work today so maybe I will have time to post another.  Have a great day and thanks for stopping by to look.

Dog Cards

I am keeping it simple tonight and I have 2 versions of the Whatzup dog from Whimpsy Stamps and I have mounted them on SU cardstock.  I just love to color this dog he is just too cute.  I do need a couple of photography tips.  One day the photo turns out great and the next day it is all washed out. Both have been colored with colored pencils and Gamsol.  The first version
I used an SU sentiment and an EK Success punch to finish it off and the second version I have left plain.  Inside I have paw prints stamped just because every dog owner knows that their dogs are always leaving their prints somewhere.  I love them both and I know a couple of friends with dogs who will surely be happy to receive these cards.  Thanks for taking time to look.

Birthday Girl

This card is another Mo Manning digi.  She is also colored with Copic markers.  The SU Apothecary Dies were used to cut the SU Cardstock and SU Designer papers.  The sentiment is from SU and the label it is on is another SU die.  The button and red rick rack came from a box of godies I have on hand.  I am already thinking I need more colors of Copic markers.   She looks more like a Good Job for some school project, but I think she will do ok for a birthday card.  Thanks for looking

Video Player

It's been a couple of weeks since my last post, but I have been practicing with Copics.   I got my markers on Thursday upon arriving home from work.  I have colored for a couple of days and I have a couple of images I am happy with. So I have a Mo Manning digital image colored with Copics, and cut out.  This image is so much like my 8 year old grandson, video games are his favorite pastime.  I mounted the image on SU's new designer paper and early espresso cardstock.   I punched the cardstock on the side with an EK Success Punch and the sentiment and it's background label are both SU.  I found a couple of buttons to  finish it off.  I hope you like it.
